Southern Illinois Productivity Indexes for Wheat Varieties

2007, 2006, 2005

SOURCES OF 2007 YIELD DATA: Two replicated U. of I. trials at Belleville & Brownstown, a replicated trial

at  the SIU-C Agronomy Center, and a strip plot at the Ewing Demonstration Center in Franklin County.

The U. of I. trial at the Dixson Springs Center  was abandoned due to poor emergence.

The greater the number of locations and number of years on test, the greater the reliability of the information.

Test weights were the average of the two Uuiversity of Illinois locations in Southern Illinois in 2007.

The ISK Index is the Fusarium head scab ratings (combining incidence, severity and % shriveled seeds) from

Dr. Fred Kolb's misted and inoculated scab trial at Urbana. Varieties with greater head scab resistance have

         lower index numbers

Several Excel brand varieties treated with Cruiser seed-applied insecticide were entered for yield comparisons.
